Smoothies

Smoothies, especially those with frozen fruit are an ideal dessert for summer. You probably already have your own recipe for your favorite smoothie. Just in case you don't, here are a 6 ideas. Throw everything in the blender, pour and enjoy!

Smoothies

 Mango-Peach

1 peach, sliced
1 mango, peeled and diced
1/2 cup vanilla soy milk 1
/2 cup orange juice, or as needed

Melon Lime

Serves: 4

4 1/2 cups cubed honeydew melon, frozen
1 1/2 cups lime sorbet
2 tablespoons lime juice
4 fresh strawberries (optional)

To freeze honeydew, cube it and put it on a baking sheet in a single layer for about 30 minutes.

Sweet Summer Smoothie

Serves: 1

1 cup soy vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen peach slices
1/2 medium banana, peeled
1/2 cup non-dairy milk

Honeydew Kiwi

Serves: 3

2 cups cubed honeydew 1 small Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and cut up 1 kiwifruit, peeled and cut up 2 - 3 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 cup ice cubes Honeydew and/or kiwifruit slices

Blend fruit first, then add ice cubes and blend until the mixture is slushy.

Cantaloupe Lime

1/2 teaspoon lime zest and juice of 1 lime
2 cups diced cantaloupe
1/3 cup diced peach
1 tablespoon honey
3 ice cubes

Grape Smoothie

2/3 cup raspberry or lime sorbet
1/2 cup unsweetened grape juice
1 to 3 cups of ice (start with one and add more as needed)
